LUSH Christmas Wishlist

Recently I noticed that Lush has released it's Christmas collection and after skimming their website, I've compiled a small little list of some of the items I would love to get or to give for the upcoming Christmas season.

1. Sikkim Girls Body Lotion

"Fragranced with ‘Sikkim Girls’ from Gorilla Perfumes, this decadent cream will perfume the skin like no other. Jasmine flowers infused with vanilla pods and Darjeeling tea creates the soothing base.  Unpreserved and beautifully rich, creamy butters and hemp oil nourish your skin while Tuberose, Jasmine and Frangipani essential oils entice others closer.  A sexy, nourishing cream that will leave you feeling seduced after the bath or shower." - LUSH Cosmetics
2. Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser
"You can use this cleanser for your face and body – it’s gentle enough to polish and buff your skin all over. It’s scented with Pia’s popcorn perfume that’s in the sugary lip scrub of the same name. It’s smoothing and soothing and ever so slightly warming on the skin." - LUSH Cosmetics
3. Sandy Santa
"Keep your skin looking and feeling amazing with this limited edition sugar scrub.  This year it’s even more beneficial for the skin, with added coconut oil and butters, such as murumuru and organic shea butter, to intensely moisturise.  Sugar and sand add the gentle polishing effect.  Fragranced with toning Brazilian orange oil as a nod to his exotic inspiration – the sand sculptures on Copacabana beach!" - LUSH Cosmetics
4. Angel's Delight Soap (I really wanna get my hands on this one!)
"If you’re a fan of the popular Angel’s Delight dessert then you’ll love this classic Lush soap.  A yummy pink soap, adorned with stars, moons and all things glittery – tangerine oil, orange oil and gardenia oil provide the sweet, jelly baby fragrance and also really work to cleanse, refresh and detox the skin" - LUSH Cosmetics
5. Snow Fairy Shower Gel (And this one too!)
"No bathroom would be complete this Christmas without a bottle of Lush's fruity, sugary and sparkly Snow Fairy shower gel.
Candyfloss pink and with a sweet, magical scent of soothing and comforting vanilla, the flecks of blue glitter leave you shimmering.  Wash your hair and body with this sparkling seasonal must-have." - LUSH Cosmetics
6. Celebrate Body Lotion
"Celebrate the festive season with this beautiful unpreserved hand and body lotion.  Rich and wonderfully emollient, the cocoa butter and almond oil will replenish and moisturise your skin, while the intoxicating cocktail inspired fragrance uplifts your spirits.  Brazilian orange oil and lime oil tones the skin and lifts you out of the winter blues while cognac oil gets you into the party mood." - LUSH Cosmetics
Here's where you can check out their Christmas Collection!
Would love to know your picks, wishes and wants!

Pretty Pink Glitter NOTD

So university is nearly over and well I was so flippin' bored last night because everyone was out enjoying the Fall Out Boy concert and I was home. I decided to layer my favourite nail polish which is OPI in Mimosas for Mr and Mrs with some pink glitter which I picked up from Forever 21 while I was in the states last year. I had to wait a super long time to allow for it to dry but i think it looks very pretty and not overwhelming, as sometimes glitter tends to be. Last night I also noticed that I am running very short on my Sally Hansen Dry and Go Drops and desperately need to go and buy more because I probably only have one good use left in them!

Hope you enjoyed! I would love to know what's on your nails right now?

DIY or DFY Beauty TAG

(Image property of Vanity Rouge)

So I saw this new TAG over at The Happy Sloth and I thought it was such a cool idea as well as good way to share what I do myself and what I don't. DIY if you weren't aware stands for Do It Yourself and DFY stands for Done For You. Let's get into the categories!

1. Brows
Suprise! I've never had my brows done by someone else before and I learnt off the internet. I have considered getting them done for special occasions but never got around to it. My eyebrows are somewhat sensitive so I like the fact that I'm in control of all the plucking motions. DIY for me!

2. Hair
Personally I'm a little bit in between the two, but I am definitely leaning more towards DFY mainly due to the many fails I've had when I've done stuff to my hair. A couple months ago I cut my own hair, and to be honest it was a big mistake I should've just gone to a salon.

3. Mani/Pedi
An infant could count the number of times I've had someone else do my nails; Once! It was for a special spa deal when I was on a cruise and to be honest there wasn't much difference from when I do it myself, except my cuticles hurt. DIY all the way!

4. Body Hair Removal
I've considered getting it done at a salon, but never had the guts! So I've always done it myself. In my personal opinion if I was to get any of my body waxed, I would go to a salon, but I can shave my legs fine with a razor. I also think that this kinda varies in regard to which body area you are wanting to remove hair, let's say it was a more delicate area (we all know what I'm talking about) I would definitely consider going to a salon since I wouldn't want to mess it up! So this is undecided it's a bit of both.

5. Makeup for a special Occasion
Half the reason I enjoy going to special occasions is the ritual of getting all dolled up so DIY all the way. I love creating a new look for a different occasion, it's half the fun.

6. Skincare
Even when my skin was at it's worse, I still preferred the routine and the control I get with getting to mix and match different items from varying brands so once again it's DIY.

Alrighty, I TAG anybody and everyone who reads this! Would love to
see your responses!

Snow White Makeup Look and Costume/Tutorial - #Bloggoween

This is my last one I swear (unless I get really creative in the next couple of weeks!) and this is my favourite and my personal pick for Halloween this year. I've always been in love with the Disney Princesses and although Snow White wasn't my all time favourite, I am still quite fond of her and really wanted to try out a classic Disney look for this year's Halloween.

I bought the costume off eBay and it was quite cheap but not the worst quality available. You can get full length gowns off the internet but I already knew the type of Halloween party I was heading too and if I wore a full length gown my embarrassment would be akin to Cady's in Mean Girls!

So you wanna know how to do it?
  1. Full coverage foundation routine, including liquid or creme foundation, concealer, powder. Snow White has a flawless complexion and full coverage is one way to recreate her porcelain skin.
  2. Since Snow White has black hair I filled in my brows with black and it made a huge difference to the look.
  3. Take a lighter toned bronzer and put it around the hallows of your cheeks and temples. Then take a darker bronzer or contour powder and go over the other parts as well as the sides of the nose and the jaw line.
  4. Lightly highlight under the eyes, down the nose and on the chin.
  5. With a light pink blush place it on the apples of your cheeks and concentrate it quite heavily but try an avoid too round of a circle.
  6. Lightly line the upper lash line with a black eyeshadow or eyeliner. Apply mascara and white eyeliner to the waterline
  7. For the lips, moisturize with a lip balm then line the lips with a red lip liner. Apply red lipstick. If you make any mistakes take your concealer and define your lips.
  8. DONE!
The faux bob isn't too difficult to achieve and there are heaps of tutorials around the internet to help with that!

So what are you doing for Halloween? If you want to know any specific products just ask in the comments or on Twitter. Feel free to leave a comment or share!

Doe/Bambi Inspired Makeup Look/Tutorial - #Bloggoween

 (with flash)
(with natural lighting)

This is by far one of my favourites that's I've tried out for Halloween this year. I'd never done anything like this before but had seen a few people giving it a go and thought I'd give it a a try. This was my first attempt and I really like it, other than the white dots could've been a little more prominent. It wasn't as tricky as it looks and was really simple, it's mostly just contouring and eyeliner.
So you wanna know how to do it?
  1. Do a normal foundation or BB cream routine.
  2. Fill in brows
  3. Contouring Concentrate the bronzer on the apples of your cheeks and your temples and work around in a C shape. Also place the bronzer down the sides of the nose to create the appearance of a thinner nose. Pack on a highlighter under the eyes and down the nose.
  4. Eyeliner Do a simple winged eyeliner then place three small dots underneath the wing, repeat this on the inner corner down the nose. Draw on a small animal nose and connect it to your lips and put eyeliner on the top lip. Grab a white eyeliner and place small dots around the bronze areas.
  5. Eye Makeup I kept everything simple and used a matte brown in the crease and a white eyeliner on the waterline. Mascara of course!
  6. DONE!
You can obviously do more with this look but if you're looking for a simple Halloween look, this will definitely do the trick.

Pop Art Inspired Makeup Look/Tutorial - #Bloggoween

 (Natural Lighting)

(With Flash)
Now don't freak out, I did not cut my hair off, I was still wearing my hair in a bob from doing the Snow White makeup, which will go up in a post shortly after this one. Bloggoween is finally here and I know I might be a little in posting but because of time zones I think now is a pretty appropriate time to post the three looks I've prepared.

This is my first look, a pop art inspired one. I opted out of doing a full face of dots and went for something a little simpler. I have to admit I didn't do the best job I could've done, but unfortunately I was using one of my lesser quality eyeliners when I was doing this look and it started loosing pigmentation and I didn't want to start again so I settled for this final result, as I think it gives the general idea and my personal interpretation of the popular look that's going around.

So you wanna know how I did it?
Started off with my normal foundation routine and very simple contouring which I will mention more with the Snow White look since it's more important for that makeup look.
I filled in my brows with black and personally I think this will look much better on someone with brows that are less thick, but I'm not complaining.
Red lips are semi iconic for this style and I stayed with the tradition.
Now for the eyeliner! I liner around my lips then upper lash line, bridge of nose, around my nose, above my brows and in the hallows of my cheeks. You can totally add your own expression lines, it depends on what expression you want to convey, I went for mopey and sad. Then I marked the outline of the tears and filled them with a light blue eyeliner.

There's nothing too complicated about this look and it's very easy to make your own,  I love seeing other people's interpretations!

So what are you doing for Halloween? Feel free to leave a comment or share!

Haul Time - Fashion, Makeup and Skincare

I believe I'd been a good little ducky the last couple of weeks with my finances and decided to go shopping. Although I could've been better with my saving and actually bought some high end products, I caved and bought a handful of stuff from Priceline. I'm also attending a 21st on the weekend and used that as an excuse to purchase a new dress.

I'd seen a handful of the Formula 10.0.6 products floating around the blogosphere and wanted to try them out. I really just wanted the cleanser but Priceline was having a deal where I could get all three for $19 and well, I just jumped at that. My first impression is that it feels amazing, foams up great and the smell is amazing.

The other three makeup products I got were the Essence Sun Club Bronzer, Essence Match2Cover Concealer Duo and Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lip Gloss. I only bought these today so I don't really have a first impression other than the bronzer smells kinda like coconut and I can't describe the scent with the lip gloss but it's very fruity and smells gorgeous.

The dress and belt were from TEMT.

Lively Lilac - NOTD

It's springtime and what better way to embrace the season than to take in all the lovely wildlife that is blooming around this time of year. This is a really simple NOTD featuring one of my favourite nail polishes. This particular one is Rimmel Lasting Finish in 170 Lively Lilac and I'm absolutely in love with it. I feel that this specific shade is a very natural way to add some purple into an more wearable setting, since lilacs and lavenders are very subtle yet stunning shades.

What's on my face - FOTD

So here's what's on my face:
  • Skin79 Super BB Cream
  • Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch in 02 Nude
  • Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in 010 Fair
  • Maybelline Fit Me Bronzer in Light Bronze
  • MaxFactor Flawless Perfection Blush 220 Classic Rose
  • Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara
  • Essence Eyeliner in White
  • Maybelline Baby Lips in Anti-oxidant Berry
  • Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 912 Electric Orange
I was going so simple and easy since I'm not really doing anything today and just needed something a little extra then what I normally look like. BB Creams are great for that and this is one of my favourites. If you would like me to do a personal review on any of the products listed, feel free to comment below :)

This or That Tag

It's been awhile since SBBC and I miss doing regular posting and I thought what better way to help me get back into posting more material then a TAG? I'd seen this one floating around and thought I'd give it a go. It's split into six sections, Makeup, Nails, Body, Fashion, Hair and Random. This might end up being a long post but I feel that I have to reason some of my decisions and I won't hold back.

So let's get into it!

MAKEUP...
blush or bronzer - If you had asked me six months ago it would have been a no-brainer for blush but since learning how to contour, I've been a tad addicted and will opt for a light bronzer over blush.
lip gloss or lipstick - I much prefer pigment over finish.
eye liner or mascara - That's a tricky one but since I was blessed with naturally long lashes I will opt for liner.
foundation or concealer - Concealer is a life saver and that is a matter of fact!
neutral or color eye shadow - As much as I love playing with color, I will always love my neutrals.
pressed or loose eye shadows - Loose eyeshadows get wayy too messy!
brushes or sponges - I love the control and precision I can get with brushes.

NAILS...
OPI or china glaze - I've never actually tried China Glaze but I do love OPI.
Long or short - I can't stand short nails even though I had to cut them to play violin.
Acrylic or natural - I've never tried acrylic but since I do still play a number of instruments I think natural will always be a good option.
Brights or darks - As much as I love my darks in fall and winter, I love the fun and bright colors that come with summer and spring. I'm also a big fan of neutrals.
Flower or no flower - I'm not skilled enough to dabble into nail art, I'm just too afraid of messing it up!

BODY...
perfume or body splash - I have a mini personal obsession with perfumes!
lotion or body butter - I do love the body butters I've tried but none have really wowed me, unfortunately.
body wash or soap - Soap can be really bad for your skin and there are so many more options with body washes.
lush or other bath company - In no way does this mean I don't love lush, cause I do, but I have to go with Soap and Glory, I'm in love with all the products I own buy them.

FASHION...
jeans or sweat pants - Can I just say DUH!
long sleeve of short - It's too hot over in Australia to wear lots of long sleeved clothes.
dresses or skirts - I'm devotedly in love with dresses, I do love my skirts but I will always go for a dress over a skirt.
stripes or plaid - Never been a big fan of plaid and I do own a couple of lovely items in stripes.
flip flops or sandals - We call flip flops 'thongs' over here and although they're deemed a cultural thing, I've never really enjoyed wearing them.
scarves or hats - I'm a big scarf person, even though It rarely gets cold enough to warrant wearing one, I adore styling them.
studs or dangly earrings - I have very sensitive ears and whenever I wear dangly ones they pull way too much and end up hurting :(
necklaces or bracelets - I'm very much into simplicity with my jewellery and I've been wearing the same necklace all year and I love it!
heels or flats - Being 5'11'' heels just seem a little stupid and ridiculous.
jacket or hoodie - I do adore my Yankee's hoodie but I will always opt for a jacket!

HAIR...
curly or straight - I have naturally wavy and frizzy hair so getting it straight is lovely!
bun or ponytail - I've always been a big fan on the ponytail and I do love my quick and messy buns but on the days my hair isn't as messy, ponytail all the way!
bobby pins or butterfly clips -They are just a massive life saver.
hair spray or gel - I really enjoy the natural ones and they just give enough hold that I need for a big night or day.
long or short - I cut my hair short when I was a kid and hated it and deemed never to get it short again!
light or dark - I tried getting it lightened a few years back and it was a disaster and every time I get it darker it's a massive success.
side sweep bangs or full bangs - Never really had bangs but for my facial structure side sweep bangs look better
up or down - I love having my hair down but I do admit I'm a big fan of the half up-half down looks.

RANDOM...
Rain or shine - I love rainy days! But living in Queensland there is a fine line between a lovely rainy day and Oh Shit this storm may kill us! But rain is beautiful
Summer or winter - I love snuggling up in winter but I seriously can't handle the cold at all.
Fall or spring - Spring is by far my favourite season of them all.
Chocolate or vanilla - DUH!

I invite any body who reads this to try it out themselves, I think this is a great way for all of us beauty bloggers to get a sense of what we're all into :)

Can't wait to see yours !

FOTD Simple Neutral Smokey Eye

So this makeup look was from last Thursday so not technically a FOTD but I thought I'd share it. I can't remember all the products that I used on my face. On Thursday night I was heading out on the town with a couple of my girls, we had a great night and I thought this eye look was perfect for the occasion. I could've put a little more black in the crease but I was very happy with how the eyeliner turned out. Also tried focusing on contouring and bronzing and although it doesn't show up too much on camera it looked very lovely in person.

I'd love to hear your comments :)

Yes To Cucumbers Review - Moisturiser and Towelettes

Holy cow this is been a long ride, finally getting access to my blog today and I'm gonna dive straight back in. I'm pretty sure I haven't mentioned this yet but I am apart of #Bloggoween and am prepping for that, trust me when I say that this break from blogging because of the whole domain thing has been incredibly stressful and now I'm just glad I can put out my material. Now back on topic!

Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer

I've had this little baby for awhile and I only have good words to put forward. I had been on the look out for a decent moisturizer for quite a long time and it was becoming to be impossible, because either something was too greasy or smelt funny or any of the other problems you normally face with a moisturizer.

I'd heard a few good words about the Yesto brand and was desperate to try them out and since I was in need, I picked it up in good hope. I'm aware that some people dislike this product purely because it smells like cucumbers, but I mean what do you expect it's got it in the title. Personally, I love the smell it's incredibly refreshing. The consistency is great and feels really cooling and calming on my skin and I wish I could just use it every hour or so just to cool down. You also don't need much I never use more than a pump for my face and neck, sometimes less.

Altogether I would definitely recommend this product to all my friends....and their mothers and sisters and cousins and great aunts. Generally everyone!

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

Over the past weekend I was staying at a friends place and ran out of makeup wipes and from my previous experience with the moisturizer I jumped at the excuse to purchase and try these out. The scent is very calming and cooling and definitely did the trick. Since I didn't take my entire skincare routine with me to my friend's place I was quite impressed with how these actually made my face feel clean. They are also very proficient with getting off makeup and I was amazed that something that was scented still happened to get all my makeup off without irritating my skin.

Can't wait to try more products from this brand they are definitely two thumbs up!

Finally! - Life Update #3

I can't even begin to describe the stress involved with this change and although there are still a few kinks this might be as good as it gets (domain wise). The fact I haven't posted anything in a week makes me incredibly sad and can't wait to get back into something a little more routinely.

At the moment the domain situation is that my naked domain (ohhkaye.com) will still take you to the wordpress blog, but I've deleted all posts and made it private and the current domain, (www.ohhkaye.com) which you've found is up and running on Blogger and will continue to and I hope I can fix the domain name trouble. I sincerely hope there is no more problems with the crossover and with platforms such as Bloglovin.

All this domain stuff has been racking my brain and I've been incredibly stressed and I hope that now I can get the domain to actually point to the Blogger blog that I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Will hopefully post some beauty related posts tomorrow!
