Dramatic Clubbing Makeup - FOTD

 Hello Lovelies,

Just gotta say...I LOVE this makeup, I literally threw it together in 30 minutes and it fared wonderfully for a crazy night of dancing and I was so happy with it, but realized once I was taking it off the next morning that I had only taken one photo of it.

The look wasn't that hard either!!!! I took a classic white and black cut crease and just added a few things, like some greys and a whole lot of glitter and of course, winged eyeliner.
The glitter was a NYX roll-on one and I took a small brush and dabbed it on all around my inner corner.
I found a cell phone photo that wasn't that bad so I included it.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All in 1 Review

Hello Lovelies,

It's been awhile again and I'll initially apologize then get straight into it, since even though I've been swamped with life and planning for my upcoming month abroad, I still want to type up what I've been loving (or hating). I'm hoping to schedule a few posts that will come up when I'm overseas :D

When the big hype of micellar waters came about I was personally a little hesitant since they honestly looked like expensive bottles of water. After humming it over in my head and reading all the fabulous reviews of the Bioderma one, I ventured into Priceline to pick some up and found out that a tiny bottle of the stuff was $30 and since I'd never tried this type of product I needed to try a cheaper alternative. One of the staff members suggested the Garnier one and after reading that it removed makeup and was soothing, I was anxious to try it out myself, the fact that it came in a huge bottle was also a big selling point.

As I'm typing this post I'm on my second bottle of the stuff, and there has never been a skincare product I've repurchased!!!! I'm not gonna blurt out that this product is some sort of holy grail since it doesn't particularly do anything extra for my skin, but as a makeup remover/light facial cleanser it totally takes the prize.

I found that Garnier really found a way to remove makeup in the simplest form, and doesn't have any weird extras like perfume. For example, I had been previously using an Elizabeth Arden makeup remover I got for Christmas and it was alright but left a slimy residue on my face and the smell was a little too much for me and I would also have to use and excess of 3-4 cotton pads just to get everything off. In regards to the Garnier one, I use one saturated cotton pad per half of my face and occasionally I use one extra all over if I was wearing heavy makeup. Side note; I have extremely sensitive eyes due to an incident in middle school and I found that even when this stuff got in my eye (on rare occasions) there would be no irritation.

Personally I would recommend this to everyone's sister, mother and brother !!!! The makeup remover is strong but the cleanser part of this product is extremely light, but does a decent job to make me feel refreshed even if I'm not taking any makeup off.

What's your go to makeup remover/cleanser?

Surprise Romantic Weekend Away - One Year Anniversary

Hello Lovelies,

Just over one year ago Alex and I started dating and it feels as if time has stopped for us as well as flewn by. Although we went out for a special dinner on the actual night of our one year anniversary, Alex had been planning something special and been keeping it a surprise for months. I literally had no idea, other than I had to pack enough clothes for a weekend away and that we were going to go to dinner somewhere nice.

I was beyond surprised and taken a back with excitement when he told me that we would be escaping to Bribie Island for the weekend. We ended up staying at this amazing B&B that had a gorgeous king sized bed with access to spa, sauna and pool facilities. We spent the day relaxing to the max in the spa and indulging in a Lush Bath Bomb!!!! Dinner was exciting and we splurged and got a couple of drinks as well as entrees and sides.
Even though we experienced the first heat wave of the season (the temperature got above 40 degrees Celsius) the entire weekend was pure bliss and we both had such an amazing time.

Black + Gold Sugar Skull

Hello Lovelies,

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year, I swear I've become obsessed with looking and watching videos of everyone's looks, everyone gets so creative. It just happened to be exam time for me the entirety of October, so yay! All I wanted to do while I was studying was to transform myself into something creepy or different, so I personally used that as fuel to study extra hard. When I finally got around to sitting down and trying something out, the only idea I had in my head was a sugar skull and I thought a black and gold colour scheme would work well, so I just winged it.

I started by contouring (very lightly) with black eyeshadow around my jawline and the sides of my face. The eyes were very fun to create and I started by placing down different yellows and golds to create an opaque colour around the eyes. Then came the black outline and the blending, which in all honesty took me the longest, but the trick i found was to keep applying gold/yellow where needed and placing some black lightly over those areas where you've placed more gold. Filling in the half circles around the eyes are pretty simple until you get to the ones around the nose, they can get a little tricky so take your time. I just used a pencil eyeliner, so if you use gel or liquid you'll have to be extra careful since they'll smudge easier.

Personally I found the nose tricky since the area is all curved, I spent way too long trying to clean up the edges but in the end I sort of just left it the way it was. Lastly you can really improvise with the mouth, I've seen so many interpretations, I tried to keep it simple.

Of course I put a deep face in !!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!!!!

19th Birthday Wrap-up

Hello Lovelies,

WOW!!! I'm getting old now. It's unreal telling people that I'm 19, especially since 18 was so much fun. This year was probably the best birthday I've ever had, since historically I've had horrible birthdays. For example I spent my 17th birthday at a funeral, was not fun at all let me tell you that. This year though was in a totally different category, I had two weekends of fun and friends.

The weekend before my birthday I hosted a pajama and cocktail night with a lot of tequila involved. Everyone loved that they could rock up to a party in their onesies and we were all fabulously comfy and we smashed through multiple margaritas. I rocked my new storm trooper pajama pants and fluffy slippers and stayed super warm all night.

On my actual birthday I decided to keep it  little low key and spent my day with my boyfriend, Alex. I really wanted to spend my day baking and cooking since my kitchen at home is bust so we ventured out in the morning to gather ingredients. Firstly we stopped for my favourite coffee, which is a White Chocolate Mocha with lactose free milk and a double shot from Zarraffas by the way. For the last couple of months Alex has kept his eyes out for some yellow tulips since they are only in season for a little while during winter, low and behold there is a bunch of yellow tulips at the Coles we went to, it was like fate. I had decided I wanted to make red velvet cupcakes since they're my favourite, and the cupcakes turned out fine but boy do I need to learn how to make frosting properly. For dinner Alex and I made pork fillet with potato gems (or tater tots) with homemade cheesy garlic bread, which Alex made all by himself and it was amazing.

My makeup was amazing as was my outfit but with all the cooking and the dinner party that followed, I forgot to take a photo. Two of my closest friends came around and we had dinner and played Cards Against Humanity before heading to Fortitude Valley. We danced for awhile and decided to end the night at a cocktail bar called Alfred and Constance. My friend Siobhan and I tried the lychee martinis and they were an absolute treat for our bodies, sooooo yummy.

All in all I had an amazing day and it was definitely a day I will never forget.

Priceline Haul - Skincare & Makeup

Hello Lovelies,

It is such a surprise that I had a little bit of money left over from the weekend and naturally decided to actually go to Priceline and get a few essentials. Lately my skin has gone haywire, I won't go into too much detail, but it's pretty crazy. I tried to avoid changing around any of my skincare products and now I'm running low on most skincare essentials. I heard a lot of rave about the St. Ives Apricot Scrub and I'm sincerely hoping that my skin doesn't reject it since it smells nice and is relatively cheap. With the Formula 10.0.6 moisturizer I honestly wanted to spice it up a bit because all my moisturizers from the last couple months have been specifically for seborrheic dermatitis (which is unfortunately the crazy, haywire skincare and scalp condition I've been battling) and I really wanted a change. Previously I've bought from this brand so I hope all goes well.

Lately I've been a slacker when it comes to replacing mascaras, I'm aware that they only last about 6 months but I refuse to go buy a new one. I really couldn't turn down Maybelline's Great Lash since it was only $6.50!!!!! The matte maker is a new powder from Maybelline and I hope it holds up from their Stay Matte powder, since that was so amazing at doing it's job, I have to say that off the bat the packaging is a lot nicer.

Can't wait to start using these little lovelies and let you all know how they fair with my face :D

What have you bought recently?

Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special Palette Review and Swatches

Boy has this little baby been on my wishlist forever! I honestly don't know why I didn't buy it earlier, especially seeing how cheap it is. There are so many looks in this palette and I'm finding it quite versatile, so much so it's been replacing my usage of my Urban Decay Naked Palette. OOH SHOCK!!! Now before I start rambling on about my love and adoration of this product, I'll show you some swatches.

Hopefully you'll agree with me that the pigmentation is spectacular. These all had NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk underneath for a base. They show up incredible on the lid and I have to admit that they blend incredibly well. The packaging of the palette has a couple of pros and cons, firstly the mirror is amazing, I find myself constantly using it to do my makeup when I'm away from home. Secondly, it's a very tiny palette and occasionally when I'm trying to open it, I find it a little tricky and I feel that I may break it.

Overall I would give it a 9/10 and would love to try out some other Sleek palettes for comparison.

What's your favourite or go-to palette at the moment?

Since I've Been Gone: No Excuses, Life Happened

Life has been hectic. There are no other words to describe the last couple of months. I'm not going to start listing out all the reasons why I haven't been posting, that's pointless. We all know that sometimes life likes to make it's way into the way we normally run things, and that's exactly what happened to me. Since the last time we talked so much has happened, serious family issues, health concerns and the tedious day to day troubles.

About a week after my last post I was heading to a mate's 22nd birthday party and to be honest I was quite excited about the night ahead, it was going to be interesting. As I rocked up to his front garden my phone began to buzz and it was seriously the weirdest thing, since I'd left home less than a half hour before then. My sister's face pops up on the caller ID and I answer, she asks me if I'm alone, so I step away from my friends to listen. I'm informed that my grandma had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Everything else that night was pointless, I was a mess. Since finding out this news, she's had surgery and is now on radiation, and I would have to say that this would be the main reason why not only my life, but everyone's life around me has become a little different. Hopefully she's going to be okay but for about a month after the initial diagnoses we were all just in a state of waiting which was emotionally tolling.

Hold on, there's not only bad news there is good! I did amazing on my final assessment pieces at uni last semester and my 19th Birthday is coming up soon. My Black Milk Clothing collection has also been growing...rapidly, which has brought great joy to my life. Work has also been good, very stressful, but good and I'm finding it incredibly satisfying.

To try and get back into the swing of things, I'm going to do a couple more "Since I've Been Gone" posts, to catch you all on the things I've been loving, wanting and hating.

Bastille Concert

Hello Lovelies,

Let's just say that these past few weeks have been hectic as all hell, exams, work and squeezing in as many moments with Alex before he leaves on his cruise. With all this crazy I didn't get to do half of the posts I'd planned on doing, for starters I wanted to tell you all about my awesome concert experience with Bastille!!!!

It's very rare I go to a concert and don't end up in general admission getting squished with everyone else, but on this occasion my mum really wanted to go with my sister and I, so we sat down. When we arrived at the Convention Centre at 7:30pmish we walked pass the long ass line for the people who were patiently waiting to try and get as possible to the band. We strolled right past them and joined the back of another long ass line, the one for merch. I have a little bit of guilt for my band merchandise collection because I'm in love with fashion and all it's fantastic creations but I still only really wear band tshirts with jeans and Black Milk. I really can't help myself!!!!!

You have literally no idea how much I adore this shirt, I practically lived in it the weekend following the concert.

Since we weren't really bothered with the first supporting artist which was Allison Wonderland, we ventured from the merch stall and grabbed some food and cider. Although I was extremely pumped for this concert since we all bought tickets in November last year, I had had an exam earlier that day that was really stressful and then I knew I had another exam the next day at 8:30am! I was certifiably exhausted.

The second supporting artist was Foxes and she had such a gorgeous voice, so much so that I bought her album that weekend! The anticipation for Bastille to come on was incredibly intense, but once they were on they were ON! Lights going crazy and everyone screaming and yelling every lyric out until vocal chords popped. Stand out songs were Oblivion, The Draw and Laughter Lines also they played a new song that no one had heard yet and it was spectacular. For Flaws the lead singer jumped off the stage and started meandering through the general admission! Their stage presence was mesmerizing.

It's such an experience getting to see one of your favourite bands perform live, I'd love to know what some of you favourite bands/artists are and if you've seen them live.

L'Oreal False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara Review

Hello Lovelies,

Exams are finally over and now with a month of holidays I aim to try and get back on top of blogging since as you know, I've been so incredibly slack, but to be honest I miss it and I really want to let you all know what I've been loving and hating. Even though I'm in crazy savings mode for my USA trip in December, I've been able to take advantage of some of the sales that Priceline have been having here and there. A couple of months ago I bought the L'Oreal False Lash Butterfly Wings mascara because there was a 40% sale on all cosmetics going on and since this mascara normally retails for $20-30 AUD I jumped at the chance to try it out. Because I've been using it for a while now I feel that I've definitely road tested it enough to give it a fair review.

Here's what L'Oreal claims about the mascara:

"Complete your winged eye look with volumised and fanned out lashes. False Lash Butterfly Wings mascara instantly volumises at the roots and stretches your lashes outwards for a winged eye effect."

First off the bat, I love the asymmetrical brush it's kind of brilliant, especially for giving extra volume for the outer lashes. I find that the formulation isn't clumpy and is extremely black, which is a big tick for me. In regards to completing a winged eye look, it definitely enhances one but I find that this mascara is perfect for any type of semi dramatic to hella dramatic eye look. The lasting power is pretty great which is either a good or bad thing depending on preference. For instance I love that it lasts all day but I dislike that it will take forever to come off. I think this mascara is best for the top lashes since I find that using on the bottom lashes it lengthens them a little too much and i tend to get a lot of mascara under my eye.

Summary:

Formulation: 9/10
Brush: 8/10 (love it for the top, but doesn't work that well for bottom lashes)
Lasting and holding Power: 8/10
Shade: 10/10 (blackest black ever, really darkens those little babies)

Total: 8.75

I would totally repurchase this mascara or at least another L'Oreal mascara since this is the first one that I've bought and well I love it, almost as much as Maybelline's Falsies!!!

What mascara are you loving at the moment?

Black Milk Collection....as of today

Hello Lovelies,

We all have our collections, whether they be makeup, haircare, skincare, headbands, scarves etc. and to each their own. My favourite collection that I own actually isn't my makeup collection (although it was a close runner up to first) it's my Black Milk Collection. Although it's fairly small, I'm a uni student and well if you know anything about the brand, you need to save up some dough for each purchase. Black Milk Clothing compromises of nylon heaven with a multitude of leggings, dresses, skirts etc with crazy awesome designs featured upon them, occasionally being pop culture related. I'd known about them for awhile firstly cause they're Aussie and at high school I gawked at their site for hours, sometimes getting all the way to the checkout and then chickening out cause of the price. Last year I jumped the fence and bought the Marauder's Map Leggings from their Harry Potter collection, I honestly could not pass them up. I'm so glad that I did, they are one of my favourite styling pieces and goes wonderfully with all my band t-shirts as well as plain dresses. Since they are golden cream, I actually get asked (nearly every time I wear them) if they are tattoos!!!! From that first purchase I've been obsessed, the photo above shows 4/5 of the pieces I own the other is a pair of mermaid leggings which are pictured below.

The Fit:

I fit between a medium and a large depending on the style, for example in the Marauder's Map leggings I've got a medium and they fit (length wise I'm 5'11") fine but with the mermaid leggings below, they fall a little short and tend to ride up my legs (I have them in medium as well) since they're textured. I find the cut of the dresses to be quite flattering especially the reversible skater dress which the Lumpy Space Princess dress is. The material is clearly their signature nylon and is amazingly comfortable and durable, since I live in Australia they are kind perfect since it never gets too cold here. For some of the dresses they also allow the option for a longer torso which is wonderful since I'm so tall.

The Collection:
Mermaid Musk Leggings in Medium (No Longer Available)
*Newest Addition* Red Tartan Toasties (they have fleece on the inside which makes them toasty) in Large
Marauder's Map Leggings in Medium
Pictured in the top image:
LSP Reversible Skater Dress in Large
Team Targaryn Scoop Skater Dress (Game of Thrones For the Win!) in Large LT (Long Torso)

So that's my collection, it will continue to grow cause I have no self control and plus there's a disney collection coming out and I'm sure I'll loose all my savings.

By the way just mentioning that I wasn't sponsored by Black Milk Clothing at all they have no idea I'm doing this post, I bought each and every item of clothing myself with my own dough.

What's your favourite brand of clothing? xoxo

FOTD - Clubbing Winged Eye Look

 Hello Lovelies,

There's a reason I've been quiet, I've been sick with a horrible sinus infection (ewww! I know right) and also extremely run down since I just came out of some very stressful assessment pieces for uni. As well as being a wonderful student *scoff* I've been going out with friends lately and partying it up since one of my friends is leaving the country for 5 months!!!! I took a couple of FOTD style photos and this one ended up looking the best once I uploaded them to my computer. I also really liked my outfit from this night (which was a UV Paint Party) but I didn't get any decent snaps of it. In relation to my makeup, it lasted amazingly especially since I was dancing and drinking :P I can't remember all the products I used but I used a Maybelline Gel eyeliner to create the wing, which I think I'm getting awesome at.

It's been a while, what has everyone been up to?

Miscellaneous Mondays - Top 10 Fav Listens

Hello Lovelies,

It's been a hectic couple of weeks with exams and assignments and well there was a little nerve damage from a crazy night in the city, and even a bruised nose! Can hardly describe all the crazy that's going on and I really hate that I can't post that often but here's a little post to share some of my fave tunes at the moment. They are in no particular order :) I also thought this would be cool to share since one of my favourite events of the year is on this week; Eurovision. Even though I don't live in Europe I still get roped into it every year, I absolutely love it. My pick for this year is Sweden's Entry which is Undo by Sanna Nielsen. I tried to make this post with links to Youtube and Soundcloud but after nearly 40 minutes of fiddling I just made a Spotify playlist, below it only shows 8 tracks but there are ten and I've been loving them all.

What songs have you been loving recently?

Black and White OOTD

Hello Lovelies,

Last night I got especially dressed up for a little gathering with some new friends in town and well I thought my outfit was kinda cool. I tried to keep things pretty simple  and stuck with my favourite style which is wearing no more of two colours. In my opinion as much as I love my cool designs and layering is really awesome, when I want to stick to something classic you can't go wrong with your plain colors or shades. What's your go to fashion color combination? Mine would have to be black and white or black and pink :)

So here's what's on my body:

  • Top - Valley Girl
  • Skirt - Forever 21
  • Bag - Colette by Colette Hayman
  • Boots - Naughty Monkey
  • Lipstick - Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107 (loving this shade!)

Even though it's getting a little chilly here in Brisbane, I was actually quite comfortable with wearing this amount of clothes. I suppose you can get away with that in this time of temperamental weather.

What have you been loving recently?

Photos of Late + Life Update

Hello Lovelies,

No, I haven't forgot about my blog, let's just say that me adjusting to finally having a social life is kind of a shock and it may take a while for me to get back to normal, plus I'm saving like crazy and haven't been able to afford buying new products. The photos above kinda show what's been going on lately, for starters that pic in the top left hand corner of me looking pretty cool as Hermione Granger was taken at my boyfriend's 21st birthday party last weekend. It was a blast to say the least, everyone dressed up as what they wanted to be as a kid, I wanted to be an actress and Emma Watson was my inspo! The froyo was a personal treat to myself for surviving a hectic week and still managing to work and save money, let's just say it was delicious, the taro flavour was so tasty as well. Since I'm uni heaps, I also venture to the uni bar.....quite often haha. I tried this pear cider with tropical juice a week ago and it was super tasty, definitely made the following tutorial interesting. Lastly, my most recent purchase from Black Milk, I always cling to my computer when they release new collections and when I heard they were releasing a Game of Thrones collection, I went a little crazy, I just had to have my piece. I got the Team Targaryen dress and I love it, they also had this dress in Long Torso which is great since I'm 5'11"!

Lately I've been head over heels with uni work and I've been trying really hard to get better grades this year, so far so good and I hope to keep it that way. I have also been working quite a bit, trying to save as much as possible for my trip to the US at the end of the year.....so I can buy the entire Sephora shop. Believe it or not, but i kinda have a social life now too, which is so weird, but I'm loving it. I've also been eating better (excluding the alcohol) and exercising nearly everyday! I'm hoping to do more OOTDs since I'm going out more and trying new combinations out, and plus the cooler weather will help with layering.

By the way i just wanted to point out that I got awarded the Outstanding Australian Beauty Blog Award as you can see on the right hand side of my blog. I was super stoked to be awarded this, it was honestly quite a shock.

Well as much as I love rambling about what I've been up to, I'd love to know what you've been up to lately, so let me know in the comments section below.

Brisbane Food/Restaurants - #2014BloggerChallenge

Hello Lovelies,

I love food! I'm fairly certain that's an understatement because i seriously love it, I especially like trying new things, so I thought I'd share with you the handful of restaurants I've tried this year (or since I've been dating my new man). We actually have this little tradition going where we alternate between who gets to pick a restaurant each month and then have a little date, trying new places and new foods.

Wagaya Japanese Restaurant

I actually did a date night post about this one which you can read here. This is one of my favourite Brisbane restaurants, I've been here more than once now and can say that I absolutely adore it. The service is amazing and the experience is so unique. We ended up getting:

  • Tonkatsu Kushiage - which was deep fried pork
  • Takoyaki - these are AMAZING deep fried octopus
  • Yakitori - marinated chicken skewers
  • Ox Tongue - a lot of people get weirded out by the sound of this but it really is amazing, and I would definitely recommend.
  • Eel Tempura - can I just say YUMMM
  • Chicken Nankotu - Now when we ordered this we though it was just chicken pieces but it was actually soft bones that you ate, there was chicken as well, eating this was definitely an experience.
(At the top is the Yakitori and the bottom is the ox tongue)

     (This was the eel tempura)

    Caravanserai

This was one of my picks (again) and it's a Turkish restaurant in West End, I'd never had Turkish before and my friends and family were telling me it was amazing, so I simply had to check it out. Alex and I ended up getting this massive platter which was more than enough. I absolutely adored the grilled Halloumi, I can't wait to try it again.

    Jujuba Asia

Last week Alex and I went to the Brisbane Comedy Festival and paired it up with dinner at this place in the Valley. Most of the selections were typical western asian food, and we picked the pork belly and sweet and sour chicken. Although they were somewhat familiar, they were in their own way unique and both tasted amazing.

    (pork buns for an entree)

    What are your favourite restaurants?

Nail Inspirations and Bloggers - #2014BloggerChallenge

Hello Lovelies,

Boy, it's been awhile since I've posted but since then, I've been sick, the internet went down and not to mention I started back at uni, which made my life super busy. But what better excuse to actually post something decent than post my 2014 Blogger Challenge post.

As much as I wanted to do a NOTD, I really haven't been loving any of my nail polishes enough to paint my nails. So instead of showing my nails, I thought I'd share some of my fellow bloggers and instagramers and their amazing fingertips, in no particular order of course.

Geeky Owl

This blog has to be one of my favourites, all of her designs are so creative and I love seeing her nail creations. Here is her latest post.

The theme was Mardi Gras, and it's so awesome and totally takes in the bright colours that surround that particular event.

The Happy Sloths

Every time one of Jasmine's posts pop up on my feed I get so happy, since they are always so incredibly cute. She utilizes a lot of nail decals and they always work for her and go amazingly with her polishes. Here is her latest post.
Love that mustache!

Ginger Loves Makeup

When it comes to Ginger's nail related posts, I just love her selection of polishes, they are always so gorgeous. Here is her latest post.
Such a stunning teal shade!

Paint Those Piggies!

If I could get any nail/beauty blogger to do my nails it would be Erin from Paint Those Piggies, her designs are so unique and I wish I had her talent. Here is her latest post.

Anniep1124 - Instagram

Although Anniep1124 doesn't specialise in nail art or design and instead is the instagram account for an online jewellery store, she still shows some gorgeous fingertips. Here is two of their latest nail arts.

Who's your nail inspiration?

Brand Spotlight: Essence - #2014BloggerChallenge

Hello Lovelies,

Now most of you may have noticed my love for high street/drugstore/cheap makeup, since it's a recurring theme in many of my posts. In particular I have been experimenting with Essence, which happens to be the cheapest brand I've found in Priceline. I started off with a few lip liners to expand my collection and then slowly started taking notice of a handle of their product. So far I've tried out the Sun Club Bronzer, their eyeshadows, lip liners, one eyeliner and their concealer.

Essence I think ranges from prices as low as $1.50 to I think $8/9, which is crazy cheap. It was surprising for such a cheap range that they actually had a decent payoff. I for one, love their lip liners and I did a full review of them here. The sun club bronzer is also really good and has an sweet scent of coconuts and although I think I may have picked up one that is not really my shade, it's slowly growing on my and I did a review on it here. The eyeshadows aren't crazy pigmented but they are quiet buildable and can add a really nice layer of sheer color.

There are many drugstore brands that I am in love with but I would have to say that if i wanted to try multiple product or really needed to replenish something in my collection I would definitely head to Essence. Sometimes it surprises me with how cheap their products are. I really want to try out their blushes next :)

What's your favourite drugstore/high street makeup brand?

Cosplay Inspiration - Lisa Lou Who

Hello Lovelies,

As some of you might know, I'm a massive fan of almost everything pop culture related and I am in complete awe of the guys and gals that do cosplay. I wish I had the skill (in relation to creating the costumes) and the confidence to pull off such amazing characters. The other day I stumbled upon this wonderful cosplayer by the name of Lisa Lou Who and I fell in love with some of her costumes and I felt the need to share her with you all.

Costume: Harley Quinn
Series: Original Design, inspired by Sakizou

Jasmine, Thief of Agrabah

Daenerys Targaryen

Ana from Frozen

I love all her costumes and think she's incredibly talented at what she does, and seriously can't wait to see her future creations. She seriously inspires me to take a crack at cosplaying myself, although I seriously lack the sewing capabilities hehe.

You can find Lisa at these links:

What do you think about her costumes? And about cosplaying in general?

Miscellaneous Mondays - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Hello Lovelies,

Some of you may know I've been reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn as of late and I finished it this morning and well even though it's over I can't get my mind off it. Simply put, this book quickly became one of the best books I've ever read. I loved every second.

Gone Girl is a psychological thriller about the disappearance of Amy Dunne on her 5th wedding anniversary and it's implications on her husband, Nick Dunne. The book is divided between the two characters, with real time action from Nick and diary entries from Amy. Before the disappearance both Amy and Nick were having some trouble's in their lives and especially in their marriage.

Both characters are created beautifully and are incredibly flawed people and each of their imperfections is part of what makes them so perfect for each other in such a weird and complicated way.

I'll try my best not to spoil anything since the twists and turns in this book is the reason why I was so hooked. I was changing my opinions and my alliances so quickly I didn't even know where the book was heading. The whole way through I felt like I knew the characters and I was drawn instinctively to their misfortunes.

Gone Girl had me yelling at every point of interest and I honestly couldn't put this down. I also wanted to tell everyone everything what was happening but every member of my family either wanted to read it themselves or wants to see the film adaption that's coming out later this year.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery/crime book, it's so perfectly constructed that I sincerely tap my hat to Gillian Flynn.

What have you been reading?
xoxo
